The Pantanal wetlands, stretching across central Brazil, are a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. Unlike dense rainforests, the open landscapes here make animal viewing easy and rewarding. Our journey begins in Campo Grande, traveling through Aguapé Lodge’s grasslands where Giant Anteaters and Armadillos roam. We continue to Bonito for a spectacular encounter with Hyacinth Macaws before flying north to Cuiabá and onward to Porto Jofre — the heart of Jaguar country. For four full days, explore the river channels by boat, where sightings of Jaguars hunting along the banks are common. The adventure ends at South Wild Pantanal Lodge, offering an unforgettable evening with the elusive Ocelot. Expert guides, small groups, and prime locations make this Brazil wildlife tour the ultimate way to experience the Pantanal’s raw beauty and unmatched biodiversity.

September 11 – Arrival in Campo Grande

Arrive in Campo Grande and transfer to Aguapé Lodge, set within a private ranch renowned for its rich wildlife. As dusk settles, set out on your first safari in search of Giant Anteaters, Armadillos, Capybaras, and other nocturnal species that thrive across the open savannas.

September 12 – Exploring Aguapé Lodge

Morning and evening land safaris unfold across the lodge’s expansive wetlands. In the soft glow of early and late light, the Pantanal reveals itself, Giant Anteaters on the move, Marsh Deer emerging from cover, and a vibrant chorus of birdlife animating the landscape.

September 13 – Aguapé to Bonito

After a final morning safari, drive to Bonito, celebrated for its limestone sinkholes and crystal-clear waters. In the evening, visit the Macaw Sinkhole for a remarkable spectacle as Hyacinth Macaws return to roost, filling the sky with flashes of brilliant blue.

September 14 – Macaws & Return to Campo Grande

Spend the morning photographing Hyacinth Macaws in flight before returning to Campo Grande for an overnight stay. The afternoon is at leisure, time to rest and prepare for the northern chapter of your Pantanal journey.

September 15 – Fly to Cuiabá & Transfer to Porto Jofre

Take a short flight to Cuiabá (not included; approximately USD 90), then travel along the legendary Transpantaneira Road to Porto Jofre. In the afternoon, embark on your first boat safari, scanning the riverbanks where Jaguars are often seen resting or on the hunt.

September 16–19 – Jaguar Territory: Porto Jofre

Four full days devoted to exploring the river channels by boat. Early mornings and late afternoons offer prime conditions to observe Jaguars, Giant Otters, Caimans, and an exceptional diversity of birdlife. With expert guides who know the most productive stretches of river, each outing presents outstanding photographic opportunities.

September 20 – To SouthWild Pantanal Lodge

Enjoy a final morning on the river before transferring to SouthWild Pantanal Lodge. After nightfall, visit the Ocelot Hide for an intimate and memorable encounter with the elusive Ocelot, ideal for low-light photography.

September 21 – Morning Boat Safari & Departure

Begin the day with a relaxed morning boat ride, focusing on birdlife and the gentle rhythms of the wetland. After breakfast and checkout, transfer to Cuiabá Airport for your onward journey.
